E3 is fast approaching and a lot of surprises are expected from all the publishers in the industry. The rumours are getting louder and louder, but the one concerning the leak of 2K Games’ next games has been confirmed by Jason Schreier. This gives a lot of credence to what is to come, even if it should be taken with a pinch of salt as always.
A reddit user has revealed several upcoming games published by 2K Games with several details for each. While this seems at first glance to be fairly credible, the confirmation by the Bloomberg reporter almost confirms it. Here’s what we learn:
Of course, this is not surprising for an annual sports game like NBA 2K, but the source reveals that the cover player will probably be Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks. This could also be for a possible “Legend Edition”.
Wonderlands: A Borderlands spin-off starring Tiny Tina
The official title could be Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands . The game should feature the famous crazy girl while remaining in the same vein as the other Borderlands games with “multi-class heroes”. It’s not the first time that rumours of this spin-off have surfaced.
The new game from Firaxis Games (Civilization, XCOM…) under Marvel license
Codenamed CODA, the title is described as an XCOM-like with different heroes from the Marvel universe. Prestigious actors are expected to play the various characters, although no further details have been provided.
Volt: “Cthulhu meets Saints Row
The game codenamed ‘Volt’ is probably the weirdest on the list with an action game described as ‘Cthulhu meets Saints Row’. A mix between a rather tortured Lovecraftian world and something more offbeat a la Saints Row is bound to make you curious. As the reddit user points out, it could be developed by Hangar13 (the studio behind the Mafia games) who are currently working on “a sci-fi open world with supernatural elements” for 2K.
Jason Schreier did say that not all of these games will be shown at E3. We should know very soon the end of the story with an army of conferences coming very soon.
